GRECO Conference - Prag – Go For Zero Corruption



An international conference titled ''Prevention of Corruption in respect of Parliamentarians, Judges and Prosecutors: main trends and lessons learned from GRECO Fourth Evaluation Round'' was held in Prague on 9-10 November 2017 by GRECO (Group of States against Corruption) of which we are a member that was established in 1999 by the Council of Europe to monitor States’ compliance with the organization’s anti-corruption standards, under the auspices of the Czech Republic´s Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and in partnership with the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic.


Rapporteur Judges of the Foreign Affairs and Projects Bureau Mr. Zeki UYSAL and Mr. Halil AKKIZ attended the Conference on behalf of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.

Opening speeches of the conference were made by the Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic Mr. Robert Pelikán, Director of Information Society and Action against Crime, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law Mr. Jan Kleijssen and President of the GRECO, Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Marin Mrcela.

Additionally, panels were held in company with moderators on the subjects included in the 4th Evaluation Round including also codes of ethics.

In addition to taking stock of the main trends and lessons learned in the prevention of corruption in respect of the Members of Parliament, judges and prosecutors, the Conference provided an opportunity to present and discuss the main achievements and good practices of the 4th evaluation round as well as challenges in the implementation of recommendations.

The conference brought together GRECO members as well as other experts and provided a platform for a professional discussion.
