The 35th Working Group Meeting of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE) was held on 23-24 May 2024 at the Council of Europe premises in Strasbourg (France). The CCPE, established in 2005, serve as a consultative body of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Its main tasks include gathering information on the functions of prosecutors' offices across European countries, conducting studies on the role of prosecutors in the criminal justice system, and preparing opinions on prosecutorial activities for the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
Mr Onur USTALİ, Rapporteur Judge of the Bureau of Foreign Relations and Projects, who were elected as a member of the working group at the CCPE’s 18th plenary meeting on 19-20 October 2023, attended the meeting on behalf of Council of Judges and Prosecutors (CJP).
The draft Opinion No. 19 (2024) on the “Management of Prosecution Services to Ensure Their Independence and Impartiality” was worked through in the meeting during which the Working Group members and technical experts exchanged views and the final version of the draft was reviewed to be submitted to the General Assembly of the Consultative Council of European Public Prosecutors (CCPE).
