Mr. Akın Gürlek was born in Nevşehir in 1982. He was graduated from the Faculty of Law of Marmara University in 2005.

He served as a judge in various provinces and districts, and subsequently held the position of the Presiding Judge of 14^th High Criminal Court of Istanbul.

Between 1 June 2022 and 7 October 2024, he served as the Deputy Minister of Justice.

From 8 October 2024 to 11 February 2026, he held office as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul.

Upon the approval of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, he was appointed as the Minister of Justice on 11 February 2026.

Mr. Akın Gürlek is married and has one child.
