A delegation headed by Mr Fuzuli AYDOĞDU, Acting President and President of 2nd Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and composed of Mr Mustafa TÜNAY, Deputy Secretary General and Mr Hakan BULUT, Rapporteur Judge, paid an official working visit to Mongolia between 24-30 August 2026.
On 25 August 2026, the delegation visited the Judicial Disciplinary Committee of Mongolia and met with the delegation headed by Mr Sonomdovchin ENKHTUR, the Chairperson of the Committee. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Council of Judges and Prosecutors and the Judicial Disciplinary Committee of Mongolia. With the Memorandum of Understanding, it is aimed to increase exchange of information and experience in the fields of judicial ethics and discipline, to conduct mutual working visits, and to develop cooperation between the two institutions on a sustainable basis.
On 26 August 2026, the delegation of our Council paid a visit to the Judicial General Council of Mongolia and met with the delegation headed by Ms Zolzaya PUNTSAG, the President of the Council. During the meeting, the activities that could be carried out within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions on 17 February 2025 were evaluated, and matters concerning the development of the existing cooperation through concrete steps were discussed.
Within the framework of the visit, the Supreme Court of Mongolia was also visited and a meeting was held with the delegation headed by Mr T. OSKHBAYAR, Judge of Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court. During the meeting, information was received on the judicial system of Mongolia, the structure and functioning of the Supreme Court and judicial training activities; general assessments were made regarding the judicial systems of the two countries.
The delegation of our Council also visited the Kharkhorin Inter-District Court of Övörkhangai Province, where they received information from the officials on the court’s structure, jurisdiction, and functioning, and conducted observations in the units where judicial services are carried out.
The delegation also paid a visit to H.E. Başak GENÇ YÜKSEL, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Ulaanbaatar, at her office. During the meeting, relations between Türkiye and Mongolia, along with the current state of cooperation between the judicial institutions of the two countries and potential steps to be taken in the future, were evaluated. On the occasion of the visit, H.E. Başak GENÇ YÜKSEL, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Ulaanbaatar, hosted a dinner in honor of our delegation.
It is expected that the contacts made, the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Judicial Disciplinary Committee of Mongolia and the concrete steps discussed within the framework of existing cooperation with the Judicial General Council of Mongolia will provide a strong basis for joint activities and mutual visits that may be carried out in the coming period.
