An international forum entitled "Protection of Human Rights and Effective Justice: Balance between National Traditions and International Standards" was held in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on 10-11 December 2025, within the framework of the Turkic Judicial Training Network, to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Secretary General Mr. Atila ÖZTÜRK and Rapporteur Judge Mr. Hakan BULUT attended the Forum on behalf of our Council.
The Forum, which was also attended by Mr. Alper KARAASLAN, Head of Department of the Justice Academy of Türkiye, Mr. Murat İLHAN, Head of the Justice Commission of the Ankara Court of First Instance, Ms. Züleyha MUSLU and Mr. Nevzat ÖZMEN, Rapporteur Judges of the Justice Academy of Türkiye, brought together high-level representatives from the judicial institutions of the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States, as well as academics and representatives of international organisations.
The Forum discussed the protection of human rights, ensuring effective justice, judicial training, digitalisation and current developments in the field of judiciary, and exchanged experiences on the practices of different countries.
During the contacts held within the scope of the visit, information was shared on the activities carried out within the framework of the Network of Judicial Councils of the Organisation of Turkic States, which was established as a result of the initiatives of our Council, as well as on the current framework of multilateral and bilateral cooperation mechanisms developed in the field of judiciary, and general evaluations were made in these areas.
In the talks held on the occasion of the Forum, the importance of the institutional dialogue established in the field of judiciary and mutual understanding was underlined, and the opportunities for cooperation on the professional development of the members of the judiciary, improvement of the quality of human resources and development of common standards were discussed.
