Balkan Study Visit

BALKAN STUDY VISIT

 

A study visit was held to Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia between 29 October – 3 November 2017 in order to exchange information with councils for the judiciary in these countries by means of examining the Albanian Code of Judicial Ethics on site, by a delegation composed of Mr. Cafer Ergen and Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz Köseoğlu, members of the 2nd Chamber of the CJP and Mr. Zeki Uysal and Mr. Halil Akkız, rapporteur judges of the Foreign Affairs and Projects Bureau of the CJP on behalf of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.

In the morning session of October 30, 2017, the Albanian High Council of Justice was visited and information was given by the delegation under the presidency of the Council member Mr. Gjin Gjoni, the President of the Balkan and Euro-Mediterranean Network of Councils for the Judiciary about the Albanian Code of Judicial Ethics and ideas were exchanged on the codes being prepared in our country and its' application. Then, our delegation paid a visit to the Albanian School of Magistrates and was welcomed by the Director Dr. Sokol Sadushi, during the visit, ideas were exchanged on trainings provided for codes of judicial ethics. Additionally, an official dinner was held by the Albanian High Council of Justice with the participation of the Council members in honor of our delegation participated in the 29 October Republic Day Reception upon the invitation of the Turkish Ambassador to Tirana Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar.

In the morning session of October 31, 2017, official meetings were held with the Supreme Court of Albania and the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor on the application of judicial ethics respectively.

Thereafter, our delegation went to Pristina and visited the Turkish Ambassador to Pristina Ms. Kıvılcım Kılıç in her office.  

On November 2, 2017, the Turkish Ambassador to Skopje Mrs. Tülin Erkal Kara was visited in her office with the Constitutional Court of Republic of Macedonia member Mr. Salih Murat. During the visit, ideas were exchanged especially on the steps to be taken to develop cooperation with the Macedonian judicial institutions.

Our delegation returned home on November 3, 2017 after having completed their studies.
