The Second Regional Consultation Meeting within the scope of ''The Project on Strengthening Judicial Ethics in Türkiye'' co-financed by the European Union, the Republic of Türkiye and the Council of Europe and carried out by the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors was held on 6-7 October 2016 in İzmir.
Acting president of the HCJP Mr. Mehmet YILMAZ, Head of the third Chamber of the HCJP Mr. Metin YANDIRMAZ, Head of the first Chamber of the HCJP Mr. Halil KOÇ, Secretary General of the HCJP Mr. Bilgin BAŞARAN, Secretary General of the Union of the Turkish Bar Associations Mr. İzzet Güneş GÜRSELER, Deputy Secretary General of the HCJP Mrs. Müjgan KARYAĞDI, İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor Mr. Mustafa DOĞRU, Prof. Dr. Ioanna KUÇURADİ, Prof. Dr. Gülriz UYGUR, Prof. Dr. Sibel İNCEOĞLU, Prof. Dr. İnayet AYDIN, international experts Mr. Iver HUITFELDT, Mr. Tron GUNDERSEN, Ms. Mjriana VİNSENTİN and judges and prosecutors from İzmir, Afyon and İstanbul participated in the meeting.
Within the programme, after İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor Mr. Mustafa DOĞRU greeted the hall and the speech of Secretary General of the Union of the Turkish Bar Associations Mr. İ. Güneş GÜRSELER, Acting President of the HCJP Mr. Mehmet YILMAZ made the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Ioanna KUÇURADİ made a presentation themed ''Ethical Issues in the Judiciary and Human Rights''. After Deputy Secretary General of the HCJP Mrs. Müjgan KARYAĞDI introduced the project, group sessions with statements of Prof. Dr. Gülriz UYGUR concerning studies to be done were passed on to.
During two days, with the moderation of Prof. Dr. Gülriz UYGUR, Prof. Dr. Sibel İNCEOĞLU and Prof. Dr. İnayet AYDIN and with the participation of international experts, Mr. Iver HUITFELDT, Mr. Tron GUNDERSEN and Ms. Mjriana VİNSENTİN, judges and prosecutors from İzmir, Afyon and İstanbul held consultations on ethical issues in the judiciary and code of ethics making process.
The meeting was concluded with the closing sitting summarizing group studies of the moderators and closing speech of President of Ankara Programme Office of the Council of Europe Mr. Michael INGLEDOW.
