The Lawyer Consultation Meeting within the Project on Strengthening the Judicial Ethics in Türkiye, which is financed by the European Union, the Republic of Türkiye and the Council of Europe and carried out by the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors, was held on 29-30 June 2016 in Ayaş, Türkiye. Mr. Mehmet Yılmaz, the Acting President of the HCJP; Mrs. Hayriye Şirin Ünsel, Mr. Muharrem Özkaya, Mrs. Aysel Demirel, and Mr. Rasim Aytin, Members of the HCJP; Mr. Michael Ingledow, Head of the CoE Ankara Office; Mr. Güneş Gürseler, Secretary General of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations; Mr. Eyüp Sabri Çepik, Member of the Executive Board of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations; Bar Presidents and lawyers of Afyon, Bilecik, Tokat, Mardin, Zonguldak; and lawyers of the Bar of Erzurum participated in the meeting.

Following the keynote speeches, Mrs. Müjgan Karyağdı, Deputy Secretary General of the HCJP, introduced the project, and consultations took place among the participants who were divided into three groups with the moderation of Prof. Dr. Gülriz Uygur, Prof. Dr. Sibel İnceoğlu and Prof. Dr. İnayet Aydın on the problems in judicial ethics, implementation and establishment of ethics codes. The meeting was concluded with the presentation of the group moderators.
