The 10th Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Conference of International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) of which our Council is a member, was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 4-6 June 2025.
The Conference was attended by numerous country representatives, wherein Mr Veli Ünal, Rapporteur Judge of Foreign Affairs and Projects Bureau represented our Council.
The main theme of the Conference was ‘The Evolving Role of the Prosecutor: Challenges and Best Practices in Tackling Cybercrime’. Several subjects concerning evolution of social media and its impact on crime, emerging threats in the digital landscape and the evolving nature of cybercrime targeting children, technological advancements in combating cybercrime and international cooperation were discussed during the sub-sessions.
The Conference provided an opportunity to establish contacts with chief prosecutors and representatives of numerous countries. Furthermore, other participants were informed about the judicial system of our country and the structure and functioning of our Council. As well as this, steps were also taken to improve bilateral relations and execute bilateral cooperation.
The Conference concluded upon the closing remarks and briefings on the upcoming and regional meetings.
