The 28th Annual Conference and General Meeting of International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) to which our Council is a member, was held in London, United Kingdom, on 24-27 September 2023.
Our Council was represented in the conference, in which several countries and international organisations took part, by Mr. Mehmet Emre Sarıyıldız and Mr. Veli Ünal, the Rapporteur Judges of the Foreign Relations and Projects Bureau.
The main topic of the conference was ‘The Changing Nature of Crime in the 21st Century: Challenges and Responses’ and various subjects related to cybercrimes, evaluation of digital and electronic evidence, maintaining public confidence in the criminal justice system and international cooperation was discussed during sub-sessions.
During the conference, contacts were established with chief prosecutors and representatives of various countries, especially with Mr. Juan Bautista Mahiques, the President of IAP; other participants were informed about the judiciary system of Türkiye and the structure and functioning of our Council and steps were taken towards developing good relations and realisation of bilateral cooperation.
The conference was finalised with closing speeches and information about next plenary and regional meetings.
