While “The Balkan and Euro-Mediterranean Network of Councils for the Judiciary”, of which our Council is also a member, has been carrying on its existence as a follow-up establishment of the “Balkan Area Regulatory Judicial Authorities Conference”, the name of the said collaboration in question has been given the name of “the Balkans and Euro-Mediterranean Network of Councils for the Judiciary” upon the signing of the relative Bylaw by the member states at the Conference that took place between 11 and 13 May 2014 in Romania, and to which our Council also participated as a founder member. The membership to this Network requires having a judicial council that functions within the Balkans and Euro-Mediterranean Area, and that is either independent or autonomous from the legislative or executive organs.

At the 10th Conference of the Balkan and Euro-Mediterranean Network of Councils for the Judiciary, which is one of the conferences mentioned above, that was held between 27 and 29 May 2015 in Tiran, the capital of Albany, where “the Role of the Councils for the Judiciary as the Assurance of the Judicial Independence and Accountability” was discussed; our Council was elected unanimously to the membership of the Executive Board of The Balkan and Euro-Mediterranean Network of Councils for the Judiciary.
