The Office of Prosecution General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Guest of Our Council, was received by Mr. Ekinci, the Acting President of CJP

The Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan and accompanying delegation paid a working visit to Turkish judiciary institutions on the invitation of Council of Judges and Prosecutors for the continuation and strengthening of cooperation with judicial institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our friend and brother with whom we have rooted historic relations.

The guest delegation composed of Mr. Elmar Jamalov Heybat, the Acting Prosecutor General; Mr. Orkhan Isayev, Head of Department of Public Prosecution Defence; Mr. Jeyhun Kazımov, Head of Department for Supervision over Law Enforcement in Investigation, Inquiry and Operational Search Activities of Judicial, Customs and Tax Bodies; Mr. Mahir Abbasov, First Deputy of the Prosecutor General and  Mr. Shamshir Shamshirli, Deputy Head of Department for Non-Prosecution Proceedings was received by Mr. Mehmet Akif Ekinci, the Acting President of CJP in the Plenary Hall.

Mr. Mehmet Akif Ekinci, the Acting President and Head of 2nd Chamber; Mr. Seyfi Han, the Secretary General, Dr. Ms.  Müjgan Karyağdı, the Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Mehmet Emre Sarıyıldız, Mr. Yunus Emre Yumuşakbaş and Ms. Hilal Tuğçe Kılıç, Rapporteur Judges of our Council participated in the meeting on behalf of CJP.

Within the framework of the meeting, Ms. Hilal Tuğçe Kılıç, Rapporteur Judge at the Bureau of Foreign Relations and Project made a presentation on “The structure, functioning and duties of CJP”. Following the presentation, admission of judges and prosecutors to profession, appointment, personal and monetary rights, complaint and discipline regime, working principles and similar and different traits of judiciary systems of both countries were discussed and ideas were exchanged.

Mr. Mehmet Akif Ekinci, the Acting President of CJP expressed his condolences for soldiers who were martyred in Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict and emphasised that current sincere relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan that are described as ‘one nation, two states’ should continue and be supported.
