Mr Juan Bautista MAHIQUES, the President of IAP, of which our Council is a member, and the accompanying delegation paid a working visit to Istanbul Justice Palace on 4 October 2024 at the invitation of our Council following the 29th Annual Conference and General Meeting of IAP held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on 29 September – 2 October 2024.
The guest delegation that was welcomed by Mr Gökhan ŞEN, Acting Chief Public Prosecutor and Mr Bekir ALTUN, the President of Justice Commission of Istanbul Justice Palace and the accompanying delegation was accompanied by Mr Veli ÜNAL and Mr Mehmet Emre SARIYILDIZ, the rapporteur judges of our Council. The guest delegation was informed about the functioning of the justice system, especially the judiciary system of Türkiye and the examples of on-site application related to the functioning of courthouse system were shown; within this context the guest delegation was provided with a detailed presentation on the UYAP system (National Judiciary Informatics System). Following this, the guest delegation made explanations about the vision, mission, structure and activities of IAP and the importance of international judicial cooperation in fight against particularly transnational crimes and crimes against sexual inviolability and the steps taken by IAP to strengthen this cooperation.
The gifts were exchanged following the lunch organised in honour of the guest delegation in Istanbul Justice Palace and the working visit was finalised.
