In order to have a mutual exchange of information and to improve cooperation, our Council paid a working visit to Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 14^th -16^th October 2019 which are in the capital, Bakü, of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our brother and friendly state with whom we adopt “One Nation, Two States” motto.

Mr. Halil Koç, President of the 1^st Chamber; Mr. Yaşar Şimşek, Member of the 1^st Chamber; Mr. Cafer Ergen, Member of the 2^nd Chamber; Mr. Hüseyin Şahin, Member of the 1^st Chamber; Mr. Fuzuli Aydoğdu, Secretary General; Mr. Harun Karakuş, Deputy Secretary General and Rapporteur Judge Mr. Ali Rıza Ülker and Rapporteur Judge Mr. Özgür Kiremitci participated in the visit.

During the visit, our delegation was informed about the structure, duties, functioning and the place of Prosecutor General’s Office and Judicial-Legal Council in the legal system of Azerbaijan and also information about the structure, duties, functioning and the place of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors in Turkish judicial system was presented. In order to develop further cooperation, establishment of Turkic Speaking States Judiciary Network and Asian Countries Judiciary Network were negotiated. Both delegations expressed their wishes to strengthen bilateral relations and ceremonies of presentation of gifts were held.

The official visit started with the visit of grave of late Mr. Haydar Aliyev, the founder and creator of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is situated in Bakü Fahri Hiyabani Graveyard. Then our delegation paid a visit to the Martyrdom of Azerbaijan, Complex of Ebedi Meşale and Turkish Martyrdom.

Within the framework of the visit, besides Prosecutor General’s Office and Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, meetings with the delegations from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Anti-Corruption General Directorate which is organised within Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan were organised. Our delegation visited Haydar Aliyev Center, Bakü City Yasamal District Court, Sumqayıt City Prosecutor Office and ASAN Service Center.

During the visit, negotiations were held and meetings were conducted with Mr. Zakir Qaralov, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mr. Namiq Asgerov, Deputy Prosecutor General and Member of Judicial-Legal Council; Mr. Kamran Aliyev, Deputy Prosecutor General and Director of the Anti-Corruption General Directorate; Mr. Ramiz Rzayev, President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Member of Judicial-Legal Council; Mr. Tapdıq Mahmudov, Member of Judicial-Legal Council and Chairman of Ganja Court of Appeal; Mr. Xeqani Tağıyev, Member of Judicial-Legal Council and Chairman of Salyan District Court and Mr. Azer Caferov, Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Member of Judicial-Legal Council and high level officials of these institutions.

Our delegation returned to Türkiye on 17^th October 2019.
