A delegation of members of the Kosovo Judicial Council, presided by Ms Arjeta Sadıku, Vice-President of the Judicial Council of the Republic of Kosovo, visited our country on 13-14 February 2025 upon the invitation of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.
On 13 February 2025, the delegation visited the Council of Judges and Prosecutors and was welcomed by Mr Ergün Şahin, Member of the 2nd Chamber of the Council, Mr Atila Öztürk, Secretary General, Dr Müjgan Karyağdı and Mr Cem Karaca, Deputies Secretary General.
In conjunction of the visit programme, comprehensive presentations were delivered on the institutional structure and functioning processes of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors. Following these presentations, ideas and experiences on judicial systems were exchanged.
In the afternoon of the same day, the guest delegation visited the Directorate General of IT at the Ministry of Justice where they were welcomed by Servet Gül, General Director of IT. Within the framework of the visit a presentation was given on the UYAP system, digitalization and technological infrastructures in judicial processes to the delegations by Mr Ali Canpolat, Head of Department of Directorate General of IT.
On 14 February 2025, the delegation paid a visit to the Ankara Courthouse where they were welcomed by Gökhan Karaköse, Chief Public Prosecutor of Ankara and Murat İlhan, President of the Justice Commission of the Court of First İnstance for Jurisdiction. The delegation was given a presentation by Mr Melih Aladağ, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of Ankara, on the Turkish judicial system, the functioning of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and courts, archive services and the new Ankara Courthouse under construction. Following the presentation, the delegation was also given a brief tour in the courthouse, including the rooms of judges and prosecutors, hearing rooms and the court clerks’ office, and were given on-site information about the functioning of the system.
After the Ankara Courthouse the delegation’s programme in our country ended with a visit to Anıtkabir Atatürk and War of Independence Museum and the Presidential National Library.
During the visit, which was an important step in the advancement of legal and judicial collaboration between the two nations, the parallels and distinctions between their respective judicial systems were thoroughly discussed.
This visit was considered as an important opportunity to reinforce the judicial cooperation of the two countries and to further advance the friendly relations and the delegation was sent off with expressions of gratitude and satisfaction.
