On December 11, 2025, a delegation consisting of Ms Dimitrina LILOVSKA, Head of the First Division of the Council of Europe Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), Ms Işık BATMAZ, Head of the First Section of that ECtHR Department and its jurists visited the Council.

The guest delegation was welcomed by the Council’s delegation presided over by Dr. Seyfi HAN, Member of the Second Chamber of the Council, including Dr. Müjgan KARYAĞDI, Deputy Secretary General, and certain Rapporteur Judges.    

During the visit, the role of the Council in the effective execution of the ECtHR judgements, as well as the implications of these judgements on the decision-making processes of judges and prosecutors and the mechanisms for the improvement of human rights standards in domestic law were addressed. In addition, the guest delegation was informed about the current policies and practices of the Council regarding the areas of promotion, professional training, inspection and judicial efficiency, and views were exchanged on concrete areas of work to strengthen mutual co-operation.

The visit proved to be a productive contact, contributing to the deepening of the existing dialogue and cooperation between the Council of Europe and our Council as it reinforced the common understanding on the implementation of ECtHR judgements.
